This book was an emotional delight. The characters were so well written and jumped off the page. I was able to feel empathy with them almost immediately which is impressive especially for the characters that may seem shallow or annoying just based on their outside actions. This author told such a compelling story and in the perfect set of pieces and flow. In addition to the mystery described in the summary, there were SO many more layers on top of that and I could not stop reading. I definitely cried a few times during this story and by the end felt like I was a part of this found family.

Note: I listened to the audiobook and it truly brought everyone to life! Highly recommend it.
