This is the accidental pregnancy trope done right! It's also a sports romance and a best friend's sister trope. I found this so cute and so wholesome, with some really sweet moments that were so unexpected and so endearing. It was refreshing to see how involved Eli wanted to be in Penny's life and the baby's life, instead of getting scared and not wanting to participate. He is so attentive and sweet and at Penny's beck and call, no matter happens. I love how he became reformed, and changed his life for the better and he realized he could be a different man than how he was raised. And Eli went to therapy! So amazing to see a man in a book actually go to therapy, WILLINGLY. I loved the journey Penny went on and the mom she became, and how their partnership developed together through this unexpected but wonderful blessing.
