I watched the movies probably hundreds of times before I read this and can I just say this made me love the movies even more. Like I loved the movies before to the point where for an entire summer almost all I watched were The Hobbit movies and LOTR on repeat for three months and then named my dog Frodo.
This is the type of book that I want to read out in the woods next to a river on a summer day. And honestly I completely plan to buy the mass market leather bound editions to do that this summer because this is just such a comforting read and it deserves that. I already own this series in the movie editions but those mass market editions just fit the vibes of this book so much. Anyways, this wasn’t a surprise that I loved this so much and I can’t wait to read LOTR.
I personally didn’t care much for the audiobook narrated by Rob Inglis though. It wasn’t bad just not for me.
