A solid 4.5. This story has a strong central character with strong writing that really makes you feel for their struggles in the world presented. Roth nails it on remembering that short stories are limited and have room to be creative. She waxes poetic in ways that I really didn't expect from the author of Divergent.

While I have to dock it .5 stars due to its not really having any compelling takeaway, for me, it is super solid and was a beautifully melancholy and personal feeling story of grief and letting go. 

Out of Amazon's Forward series with 1st being the best and 6th being the worst, this ranks 3rd of 6.
