Admittedly I didn’t actually enjoy this book, but wait! It was sad, dark and tough subject matter… so I didn’t enjoy it but I did need to know what was happening and how the story would conclude. This was quite an interesting and captivating take on World War 1 and what the war did to the people in it. I would say the ending was as happy as it could be for the MC’s, with the reality of the after effects of war.
