We met Michael in book 1 of this series ... and we do NOT like Michael. Michael is a murderer. How can there be a book about Michael, with the word "redemption" in the title. He cannot be redeemed! Or so I thought. Like Thomas in the first book, after Michael commits suicide, he is inserted (with all his memories) into his childhood body. He immediately becomes a child-murderer. Just trying to imagine this as a movie. Horrific. Not wanting to deal with that future, he kills himself, and it resets again. After killing his father (and himself) many, many, times - he starts on a different path. A different life. IS someone inherently evil? Or with a different life path, might one turn out to be completely changed?

In addition to Michael's story, we get a peek at Carrie (Michael's murder victim in book 1) and what she thinks of Michael's second (third, fourth, fifth) chance, and changes.

I'll admit this book had me teary-eyed at times. Definitely one (this, and the series) that will stay with me.
