I'm not sure how to rate this book. It's a companion piece to The Hourglass Throne and I would encourage anyone who doesn't remember details to reread it before starting Eidolon (unlike me; I guess I would enjoy it a bit more had I done that). I loved small, family moments (epilogue <3) and I enjoyed seeing kids working as a team. I was not as engaged in the actual plot as I would like, though, and sometimes felt a bit lost. Anna's POV felt a bit choppy, as if I couldn't understand her inner voice enough. Boys were better, even Quinn with his cryptic remarks :) I can't wait for the next novel.
The book itself is gorgeous. Illustrations, sprayed edges, the naked hardback, beautiful. Definitely worth the money.
