I am a huge Mary Roach fan, even though she has an unfortunate last name. But don't let that fool you! She writes nonfiction books in such a fun narrative sense. She's not talking down to the reader, because she isn't the expert- she's talking on our level, we who don't have 3 PhD's in Quantum Physics and Philosophy, because she's learning with us. I'd put her in the same category as Caitlin Doughty, so if you're a fan of one, you'll enjoy the other!

Spook explores the science of the afterlife. It seeks to explore answers to questions like "how much does the sound weigh?" And "Hey, what's the deal with psychics?" Roach takes a fresh perspective and breaks these down with insight from experts and her own delightful voice and narrative.

If you're not one for the ghouls, and you aren't one to Heebie your Jeebies for the All Hallow's Eve season, but you want to read something in the spirit of the season, I'd suggest this.
