My Sweetest Escape by Chelsea M. Cameron
4.0

This has been sitting on my bookshelf forever waiting for me to get to it. After reading My Favourite Mistake, I had to jump right back in and read this one.

I enjoyed this book more than I did the first one - I think because I had already met most of characters and knew their story.

Jos - my heart broke for her as the story progressed. I hated how everyone treated her like a 5 year old instead of the 18 year old she is - yep, she has made some choices in the past that they don't agree with but gah - man I didn't feel that she deserved the way she was treated.

I adored Dusty - he is funny and cute and sexy and I just wanted to know more about him.

There was an underlying part of Jos's story - about "him" that i did not guess who "he" was - I didn't know until Ms Cameron wanted me to know, and I loved that. I hate being able to guess that sort of thing in any book.

I loved (most of) the interactions between Jos and her sister and friends. I could understand the why's of how they treated her, but I felt for Jos about it. I loved that we got more of all the characters from My Favourite Mistake, and I freaking LOVED Jos' new friend Hannah - she is the bomb!

But most of all I loved the play between Dusty and Jos. There is this whole push/pull thing going on that just delighted me as much as it frustrated me.

The story flowed well, was well paced and it kept me interested from the minute I started till the minute I finished. I may have had a few sniffles as we delved deeper into Jos and Dusty's pasts too.
