This book hits me in ways that are too personal to put into a short review. Needless to say, Gyasi is a master wordsmith who paints her characters with such vivid color that it is impossible to put the book down. I loved the complex story that weaved in and out of time. I loved the realness of each moment, each slice of the characters' lives. It felt deeply human. I felt seen by this book in a way that I don't find frequently in books that don't center around queer characters (although SPOILERS maybe not so straight characters after all!)
