All I knew about The Cruel Prince going into it was that it was about faeries and it was all over Bookstagram.

From the first chapter, this book immediately had my attention. When Jude is a child, her parents are murdered in front of her. Along with her sisters, Jude is taken to live in Faerie with her parents' murderer. Madoc treats them well and raises them among the gentry, but Jude knows she will never really fit in with them.

I really liked Jude as a character, but I could have done without the romance. She is strong and smart, even if she does overcompensate at times. Jude learns to control her anger and skillfully takes what she wants.

The biggest question is: how soon can I read the next two books?
