princessbilbo 's review for:
A Great and Terrible Beauty
by Libba Bray
Years ago, I picked up this book because I thought the title was pretty and I really enjoyed it. I bought all the books and just really enjoyed it.
The years went by, and I thought about this series every so often, and then I downloaded Overdrive onto my phone and saw that there was an audiobook for this series. I couldn't remember much about the series, and I decided to give it another try since I enjoyed it so much when I first read the series all those years before.
After all this time, I can honestly say, this book holds up. I still found myself in love with the writing and the story. I love how Libba Bray really transports you into the world she is creating. I feel like I was there, in history. It is just amazing how real she makes all her characters and how real she makes the world. I also love her mix of cultures. I just adore her writing style as a whole.
One thing I read was a review by a friend who mentioned that the friendship felt a little forced. After rereading the book, I found myself with the same opinion, but I still liked the story as a whole. It was such a great world that Libba Bray created, and just like before, I couldn't help but dive into the other books in the series.
