3.5 - a good read, just not great. I really want to be able to give Four Dead Queens a solid 4, because I enjoyed it, but I just can’t. The twists and turns were great. Every time I thought I had everything figured out, here came a big reveal that proved I was wrong (more than once). I love that quality in a book because it keeps you on your toes. I wasn’t expecting to get so many POVs, but I ended up liking that as well. I think my rating comes down to the fact that it took me too long to get invested in the story. Every time I put down the book, I just decided to leave it down for awhile. I didn’t feel the urge to hurry up and pick it back up to find out what was going to happen next. That feeling didn’t show up for me until just about halfway through the book. Things definitely did enter full swing near the 50% mark so I’m glad that I stuck with it.
