4.5 stars. I really liked this, and I think it is one that will stick in my memory. That being said, it was a little too "perfect" in Eudora happening to find Rose and her family right at this time. How many little girls are really like Rose? How many older ladies are really like Eudora?

One thing I didn't love was the 3rd person/present tense. It just feels so weird to me. Like it is a screenplay, not a novel. But admittedly, there was reason for it, in that there were two timelines ... the present (which was in the present tense) and the past (which was in the past tense). The "past" chapters were clearly marked, but still, the difference in the tense/writing made it very easy to distinguish all the time.

I listened to the audio, and the voice of the narrator was perfect.

I must admit, while I'm not yet to the age of Eudora, her sentiments are ones I feel ... I fear getting old. In "Me Before You" I totally understood and agreed with the desire there. I understand it is a slippery slope, but as Eudora says "we treat animals better than we do humans" when it comes to easing them out of life. Who knows if I'll change my mind later on as Eudora did.

There were two moments where I was on the edge of tears.

Sweet read.

Borrowed from my local library. Was able to grab the Kindle version in addition to the audio, but just used the text once to highlight a funny. "Today's news was tomorrow's fish-and-chips paper".
