Fledgling
by Octavia E. Butler
I really wanted to love this book since I've enjoyed other books by Octavia Butler & because of the underlying themes connecting to racism & gender - especially on the intersection of the two as the main character is a young black woman. But I struggled to get through this book. The writing never fully captured me and I never felt any time of connection or fondness of the characters.
