Hollow by Branden Boyer-White, Shannon Watters

A cute modern Sleepy Hollow town complete with the headless horseman and a legacy Van Tassel descendant. But she doesn't want to have to keep reliving this endless horseman story, who wants to have their life defined by someone who lived a hundred years (or more) ago. And where does the cute new girl who just moved to town fit in?

So CUTE. I loved the developing relationship between Isabel (Izzy) and Vicky. Also Izzy was CUTE. I loved her fashion and would totally have had a crush on her if I knew that I was queer when I was in high school. Big points for casual diversity too. Loved that two of the main three folks were people of color.

The story itself was fun, and unexpected! It was a fun adventure and I liked the way it turned a familiar story on it's head and went in totally new directions. A little sapphic romance, some mysterious magic, and some solid friendship points. I recommend this if you loved Scooby Doo but it wasn't queer enough.
