i found the way this book was written to impersonal and distorted for this kind of story.
i enjoyed interview style books, even those based on music.
but for me this was just too little given to believe the story as it was told in this book.
i am sure there are people out there that somehow just manage to find their way into fame and don’t care either way, have almost too much talent and no idea what to do with any of it.
but too me daisy felt lifeless and passionless and very much not a realistic or real feeling character.
i also HATED the overly casual use of any and all drugs and how little anyone seems to care about the over consumption and dangerous mixing of all kinds of drugs.
it was simple handled in the manner of “that’s just how it was” which i personally dislike -a lot!
it’s a book that could have been fantastic but lacked realness to me. and was at the same time too much and too little.
i can’t really say i completely understand way so many people seems so utterly in love with this book but to each their own and happy to see people discovering things they enjoy.
also as a side note, i tried the audiobook since too many people said how fantastic that is and my library had it.
i didn’t find that any more interesting or working better for the story, maybe eben more disjointing since at some sections every sentence is read by someone else.
and while i can understand how a full cast might be something no people enjoy, it didn’t work for me.
