Why is this marketed as YA?!?
I've heard so many great things about Maas' books and I just picked this up on a whim. This book had me mind blown! I was in love with the world, the characters, the plot, just everything!
Feyre was interesting character, though not my favorite. She was very complex which I enjoyed. I kept screaming in my head at her throughout the book for some of the stupid decisions she made. I found it interesting how Feyre was illiterate, completely the opposite from the Disney version.
Tamlin was interesting version of the "beast". I would have liked to see a bit more anger from him aimed at Feyre. But I enjoyed his role in the book immensely. I also felt the romance between Feyre and Tamlin was a bit rushed but I did enjoy it.
Lucien reminded me of the sarcastic sidekick who everyone loves and was probably my favorite character. Tamlin coming in a very close second. I have a love-hate relationship with Rhys right now. More love than hate but I need time. Amarantha was given a nice background story but I felt like she still had a poor showing as the villain of the book. She was really just there because we need a bad guy for the plot.
The world building in here was really good. But I wanted even more ! I still have so many questions about the other courts and the human world as well the lands across the sea.
