The fast-paced sequel to Ebony Gate, Blood Jade features much clearer-world building while still maintaining the high stakes and shifting dynamics of the first book. There’s great character development within Emiko, and I appreciated that most of the story takes place in Tokyo. I’m looking forward to book 3.
