When Theo turns his head to look at me, I meet his gaze and take in the way his eyes are sparkling. I think mine might be too.
ARC review
A sweet, calm and healthy-feeling romance in the most charming little coastal town. Both Theo and Liam needed each other, and it was full of hurt/comfort and a strangers-roommates-friends-lovers progression to their relationship, which I always enjoy. There were a lot of cute moments with a kitten and a nephew as well.
It did drag a bit for me for a not-insignificant amount of time, but the last 30% or so really picked up. That as well as hitting one of my pet peeves resulted in the star rating, but that is 100% a me thing, and shouldn’t discourage you from trying the book.
I enjoyed the quiet and kindness in the characters and story, and although it was a quite uncomplicated sexual awakening for both (not 100% problem free), it felt right for the characters.
Out-of-context quote of the day:
I smile, grabbing my own rod and getting it ready.

Even now, sitting here alone and staring out the window, I almost feel like I miss him. And I think that’s because the only times my mind has been quiet, has been with him.
“Maybe we’re tied now,” I say, breaking the silence. He turns his head to look at me. “What?” I roll my head to meet his gaze with a soft smirk. “I’m clearly the better fisherman. But you… you can suck cock really well.”
