Big Magic

I’m simply obsessed with this book. Creativity has taken on a whole new level of pressure with the rise of the content creator and multi-hyphenate. No matter if you make money from your endeavors or not, creativity is about making space for play. This book is inspiring me to pick back up the hobbies and habits that I thought were cluttering my day and my home because those things bring me joy. When we play, we become better versions of ourselves. We can live better lives, do better work, and love others better when we embrace our creativity, even if we aren’t paid for it or “good” at what we do. Gilbert urges readers to take themselves a little less seriously and embrace creativity for the gift that it truly is.
