Do you pick a book based on its blurb?

I picked up this one only because of the blurb. The blurb of this book installed a conflict, which intrigued me.


Well! I should say I'm not disappointed with the book. This book has a beautiful story of a guy, his ambitions, his hurdles to aspire his dreams, his struggle with lust and infatuation, his guilt when he couldn't achieve his goals everything was portrayed in a beautiful manner.


The journey of the protagonist and his family are portrayed nicely without any extra information and explanations. And this makes the book more enjoyable.


The author also portrayed about life of a lower middle class family in a realistic manner. The good thing about the book is all the characters, situations and their struggles are relatable. Also, it is a major plus that we can connect with the characters from the first chapter.


The only thing I felt unsettling is the end of the book. I felt that the characters didn't get their proper closure and there were few things that are left unexplained. In my opinion, the end was bit confusing. But this doesn't affect the essence of the story.  Also, I felt the book cover is a bit inappropriate for the story.


Overall, it is one realistic story with relatable characters.


Would I recommend this book?


Definitely! This book is a good evening read. Also, if you want to know the working of Indian Muslim families and communities, this book is one of my recommendation.
