Lonesome Road
by Patricia Wentworth
my first miss silver mystery and this was super fun.
the writing is very well done and miss silver is just quirky enough to be amusing.
she is a little bit like holmes in the sense that the reader gets told what happens just as she is but the she has this revile moment where she explains how things happens.
it’s in my option well done.
even if you figured it out along the way too it’s not over the top or as if miss silver could have possible been the one person figuring that out, but rather just stating how it happened and that anyone could have seen it too, if they took notice.
i enjoyed the writing, found the characters well done and the overall plot good too.
i am defiantly continuing with this series!
and what i really enjoyed ja t has t even though i started with this book and not the first one i didn’t feel as if i was missing something.
miss silver made sense as did how she conducted her business. but it wasn’t over explained it introduced which can get bothersome if it happens over and over in every book in long series.
rather she simple introduces herself shortly to her client and with that the reader gets to know her too.
i really enjoyed this and recommend it!
can i also just say -even though that has nothing to do with this specific book but rather the genre and time it was written in, but i love that crime books from this era or cozy crimes -what ever you want to call it!- don’t always have a murder happen. there is a mystery or a crime of some kind but not always murder or at least not one that needs to be solved. i enjoy that in between the more contemporary crime books.
