Sometimes I don't remember that Divergent exists. When people ask me to suggest a book for them I'd never say "go and read divergent" because I just assume that everyone has read it. Just like you'd never say things like "Go and read the hunger games" or "You should read harry potter" because it's likely that they have read it or have seen the movie.
I read Divergent in 2012 (or 2013, I forgot, but it was way back before I had GR account because I saw some girl on my tumblr timeline said that this book is the shit and I had only like ten english books in total. I didn't even know that girl but I trusted her so completely that I was willing to buy a copy of Divergent without knowing what it was about). My first thought was, this is so much like hunger games. My second thought was, I fucking love Four so much I can't believe how much I love that guy. My third thought was, I need to read the second book or I will self combust.
It was amazing because I love Divergent but I never talk about it. I don't think I've ever really mentioned about how great this series is at all. Well, here I go. I love Divergent. Not as much as I love His Dark Materials or Harry Potter, obviously, but it's there, among all the great books I love more than my family in my TMB shelf. I think it's pretty obvious the reason why I love this book. Tris is a badass and she overcame her fear and she's strong and amazingly human with all her flaws, etc etc. Tris & Four are not the lovey dovey couple and I appreciate that, I really do, because I hate lovey dovey fictional characters. And I just think that my review wouldn't really be that different from other reviews about Divergent that you've read before. And I don't really have a sentimental connection to this book they way I do with HP and HDM so... yeah. I love it but not like Really Really Love it or whatever.
