More Happy Than Not
by Adam Silvera
Every time I read an Adam Silvera novel, I'm reminded of Patrick Ness' style of writing. I'll always enjoy this style- falls into the category of 'something big happens in the background' and the main character is living their own life until something changes. Felt like it had some social commentaries similar to They Both Die At The End.
Love how Silvera's characters are often absed off of himself: gay and Latino. I feel that perfectly encompasses that writing advice "Write what you know". Read this for Latinx heritage Month and can't wait to read his other books.
