This book was such a fun read and one that will be a great addition to your summer TBR. It’s hilarious but it’s also heartfelt and is the perfect balance between really charming and witty and really deep and soul searching. Barnett and his mother, Chrissy’s relationship is at the forefront of the story, really the backbone of everything and the best part about their dynamic was how authentic it felt. Chrissy is homophonic and her struggles with how she feels about her son and how his sexuality affects that for her on a personal level was handled in a really sweet and funny way. The way her long ingrained beliefs are challenged was so interesting and in the end things were ultimately very satisfying for me.
