Impact Winter

I really liked this. 4.5 stars. Very different than a regular audiobook, even different than a full-cast audiobook with sound effects (I'm thinking [b:Illuminae|23395680|Illuminae (The Illuminae Files, #1)|Amie Kaufman|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1443433956l/23395680._SY75_.jpg|26653661]). This was MADE directly for audio, and they just have a different feel. This definitely had "chapters" or "episodes" with music that would crescendo ... easy to imagine it as a TV series and the credits running at that point. It was a little TOO much, overpowering really.
I adored the British accents, I recognized Liam Cunningham (from GOT) immediately. So it's a post-apocalyptic world, almost destroyed by a comet. And then if that wasn't enough ... then there is vampires. The "clickity" sound effects in the background whenever vamps were near was good.
The image on the cover, and the one aspect of the storyline reminded me of [b:The Immortal Rules|10215349|The Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden, #1)|Julie Kagawa|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1323357921l/10215349._SY75_.jpg|15114912], which I also enjoyed.
While I did absolutely enjoy this, I'm purposefully looking for a BOOK, not an audioplay, for my next read.
