This is hands down one of the most unique books I've ever read.

What makes this book unique is the way the story is told. IMs, Records, and other print mediums make Illuminae a fresh reading experience.

Previous readers of Amie Kaufman know her for her Sci-Fi and Romance. Both elements did not disappoint in this novel. I had no clue this was another space novel. This story almost feels like it is happening in another galaxy in the same universe as the Starbound Trilogy. That might have to do with the mystery elements and the huge corporations which are Amie and Meghan's specialty.

I've never read any Jay Kristof. I've heard that he brings a certain intensity to his works. That definitely shown through in Illuminae.

This book just blew my mind and wrecked my heart by the end with all the twists and turns. I have an idea about where the sequel could go but these two could take it to crazy places and I'll be strapped in ready for the ride.
