I’m going to start with the positives because I did enjoy this. First, I love the characters. Chelsea is absolutely phenomenal at creating and writing characters. They feel so real and you can fall in love with them so easily. I loved the inclusion of ASL. There are also some incredibly thoughtful and cute moments throughout the book that made me really happy.
All that said. The pacing was a bit off. Some part felt fast and easy to get through but a lot of it kind of drag on. I think it was a case of the book just being too long and having too many filler moments. Don’t get me wrong I love the everyday moments in books but I think there were just too many in this one. I also felt like some of the moments that should have been big plot points just got a bit lost.Like her ex showing up to a game towards the end, but it just ended up being a “leave us alone” “ok.” moment rather than anything with substance. It just felt pointless.
I do really love Chelseas books and I will be reading the next one. The charcaters are phenomenal, its just the pacing/length that didn’t work for me.
