- the storyline of the blight 
- the story of the bard of the west 
- jack’s mission 
- Sidra abs Torin

Not so much:
- the writing at times still feels ya for an adult series (better than book 1 though)
- Jack and Ari still make zero sense together 
- the very end but won’t reveal due to spoiler
