Favorite. Rebel. Blue. Book.
This was one of my last reads in 2024, and I read it when I needed something simple that hit expectations. Now, I have been looking forward to Gus and Teddy’s story since reading Done & Dusted, and I am glad it didn’t disappoint.
Before reading this review, you must know that I see this series as my palette cleanser reads. So it must be loveable, entertaining, and end up where I expect it to. And therefore, these are the best palette cleanser reads.
As a whole, the Rebel Blue series falls into my favorite trope, which is found family. Every character finds their place on Rebel Blue with acceptance, understanding, and love. It feels like a warm hug with each book, and they introduce the newest official member. Technically, Teddy was already a member, but Gus had some misgivings. In fact, they were kind of sworn enemies. But isn’t that the best story?
We get a little history of why these two hate each other and get under each other’s skin. We also see more of their inner struggles and how much they are alike. And ultimately, why they belong together.
The story is an easy read with loveable characters that I will likely revisit.
You should read this if:
- You are looking for a cozy, easy read with some spicy vibes
- Sweet Home Alabama is one of your comfort movies
- The dialogue between characters brings humor, tension, and emotion
- You want to escape to a ranch and adapt to ranch life
- And, of course, enemies-to-lover is your favorite kind of chaos
