Exploring religion and family intrinsically, having a hajib-wearing Muslim girl telling a story that is not just about being hajib-wearing Muslim girl?! The exploration and narration of complicated familiar and friendship dynamics?! All while gathering insight into a culture to which I am not a part of?

I AM SO HERE FOR THIS!!!!!!

Although I can not speak to the authenticity of the Islamic / Muslim representation, I feel as though the YA genre needs more of this - more own-voices, authentic characters and stories, told in engaging and captivating ways.
