Julia is really the best part of this book. The first time I read this series I didn’t like Julia for some reason, but this time around her story became so powerful to me. The author really let loose with his humor and his darkness in her story, and her trajectory was really interesting. I only wish that it could have been faster to see how she got from the tragedy she faced to meeting up with Janet and Eliot. Quentin is still insufferable and needlessly unhappy, but the plot was still good. I’m even more glad for the show to build out Eliot and Janet because they are really the worst served characters in these books.
