The Frame-Up
by Meghan Scott Molin
Full review on wildandwonderfulreads.com
The Frame-Up is a fun, genre-bending book that mixes action & adventure, mystery, and a bit of romance and gives readers a story that appeals to their inner geek!
In this debut novel, Meghan Scott Molin brings us a diverse cast of characters, including a badass female lead, Michael Grace (“MG”), her conservative cop boyfriend, Matteo, and her drag queen BFF (Lawrence). I honestly love the characters in this book! MG is a smidge on the annoying side and made some dumb choices, but I still like her.
The premise for The Frame-Up is intriguing. I just felt that the execution fell a little flat.
This is a fast paced read with great wit and tons of the comic culture, which I enjoyed. I was often not a fan of the narration, though, and thought it could have used a bit more editing.
Overall, The Frame-Up has some appeal. I’m not sure it had enough for me to want to continue the series, but I think some readers will love the story!
*Thanks to Little Bird Publicity and Thomas & Mercer for providing me with a copy of this book. Please note that it, in no way, had an effect on my opinion or review.
