Carrie by Stephen King
2.0

I decided to pick this one up because I heard there were some major changes from the movie and was intrigued. That was a mistake.

Originally I was going to be far kinder to this book, as I think the inclusion of fake secondary sources for plot building is  really interesting and rather well done, like okay fake genetics!

But between the weird misogyny ( Mr King please stop describing the breasts of high schoolers) and the strange racist analogies to describe a WHITE WOMAN, ("looking like one of those old-time Negro minstrels with the blackface and great big white eyes." is a direct quote.) getting through the second half of this was like pulling teeth

Overall, I think I like Stephen King a lot more through the lenses of somebody else
