The biggest problem with this book is that it doesn't make it clear if this is meant to be a critique or not. Should I connect to the main character or should I hate her (For me it's rather the latter)? I never believed her insecurities and I always thought of her behaviour as childish and not very smart.

This is strange because it's so unlike anything O'Malley has written before. Maybe I'm missing something here. But it just didn't work for me.
