There's something totally relaxing reading a story from the point of view of an autistic kid. It's sort of like wrapping hard SF around a YA novel and then viewing the neurotypical as the other. It was a wonderful experience with plenty of eye wetting moments and significant tension.

I love the setting of Olympia Washington. I love trees. I love a lot of the details about trees that excited March and know a few of my own I wish I could share with him. I look back fondly on the bonsai trees I tried to cultivate from scratch. I love how science and math and religion and politics and family life and art all got expressed via their relationship with trees.

I got this via Kindle First and it's the first of the many that I've "bought" that I couldn't put down.
