You Had Me at Hola
by Alexis Daria
As a fan of Jane the Virgin I was excited to see how a book featuring a telenovela would play out, and I am happy to say, this did not disappoint!!
In You Had Me at Hola, we follow two rising LatinX actors landing lead roles in a telenovela- Carmen in Charge. One of my favorite parts were the filming scenes woven into the story and how we got to see Jasmine and Ashton bring their telenovela to life. The parallels between them and their on screen characters was evident and fascinating to see. I also thought the chemistry between Jasmine and Ashton was obvious which also made me eager to see them work together on screen.
This romance is fun, steamy, and rich in culture so if you haven't picked this up yet- PLEASE DO!
Now where is the adaptation because I NEED it in my life. ASAP.
