Oh Diana.

Did this book have a plot? No, but it had ~vibes~.

As far as actual plot/character points, I did like William far more than in previous books and it was just fun to see the gang all back together again! That being said,
Spoiler some of this magic stuff, with the blue light and healing is just WACK
and you can kind of see Diana's writing process -- in that she kind of writes chapters independently and then strings them together. This is especially obvious in scenes that drag a little because it seems that the author was just SUPER interested in something at one point.

That being said, it's just so delightful to be back in this world. The characters are consistant and I love this series for its slow moments and "plot? no... just vibes." vibe. Mmm, gimme some honey on toast and tell me about pre-capitalist society and early American grocery lists and let me live my escapist fantasy of being a subsistence+ farmer who has to worry about not having saved enough flour for winter. I just want to read about all the people of Fraser's Ridge taking care of each other and trading hams for candlesticks or whatever and hunting squirrels and gardening. Immaculate vibes.
