Friends for Life by Andrew Norriss
5.0

I first read this two years years ago ... I got a copy of the audio in exchange for a review. I really liked it then, and certain aspects really hit home (as I had an "anxiety child" refusing to go to school myself). The audio file I had was not user friendly, and I'd always thought I'd keep an eye out for a sale. Audible had a sale, and this was under $5, so I figured I'd give it a re-listen, and add it to my personal library to keep.

I'd forgotten it was British (although I commented on the accent in my first review). I'd forgotten that Francis was so into clothing design. That really is a huge part of the story. This go round, I couldn't help but compare Jessica in this story to Milo in The Gateway Trackers series (he's also a ghost, who IS very into fashion design, whereas Jessica is doing it more to help out Francis).

Even knowing the story ahead of time, I loved the revelation moments (finding out someone else could also see, the common thread between). I really paid attention to the discussion of suicidal thoughts the first read, and again here (and again, a personal connection ... not the same son though). I am still wondering what someone going through this (not the parent) would think of the book and the discussions. I might have my older son give it a listen, even though he is beyond the target audience age.
