Another gem from Emily Henry, but did I expect anything less? No, I definitely didn't. I really loved the premise of two people whose exes had hooked up with each other and now THEY were living together, trying to figure out how to navigate their new lives and then of course, slowly falling for each other. Daphne and Miles couldn't be more different, but they are tied together through what their exes did to them and it's such an interesting dynamic to witness. Emily Henry is such a descriptive writer that you can really tells exactly what's going in each scene and each moment and I love feeling so immersed in her books. I really connect with the characters this way, and the characters feel very really real and raw and fleshed out. I feel seen and understood, because the characters in her books are always real people with real struggles and I love that about her writing. However, I do wish that there had been more revenge and diabolical scheming between Daphne and Miles, considering their exes cheated on them with each other. I would have loved this, and it really would have elevated this book. What we got instead was both of these main characters just trying to navigate their feelings and work through them, and how they'll make it work together but I wanted MORE from them. I think this aspect had so much more potential and it felt lacking. I do still love this book and anything Emily Henry writes and I know I will continue to love her work.
