This book focuses on the disintegrating marriage between two Colombian immigrants living in the US, but underneath the surface it's so much more than that. Although I don't love stories that involve cheating, I find it undeniably fascinating to be allowed a glimpse into the inner lives of a married couple. As well as marriage, Robayo also touches on racism within the Latinx community, class prejudices, and expectations versus reality when it comes to carrying out the so-called American dream. It's only 160 pages though, and I think the book would have been stronger if Robayo had given herself the space to expand on these issues further.
