The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time
by Mark Haddon
I’m conflicted about this book. The tone/voice is superbly unique and really gets you immersed. However, this is a pretty inaccurate stereotype of autism (or, per updated descriptions, asbergers)- a white young man who is good at math and science. So, this book is very engrossing but take it with a grain of salt. One thing I’d really recommend is changing your expectations as most descriptions of this book are inaccurate. The character seems to possibly have asbergers despite most people’s description (and the older book description/ plot summary) saying he has autism. Also, despite most sources saying this is a murder mystery, it really isn’t. The “murder” is solved early on in the novel and most of it is an interpersonal issues/family drama novel.
