Felix Ever After
by Kacen Callender
This was a sorta buddy read with Dini. I got sick with COVID and she just flew through this. I totally understand though because I did the same when I was up to reading again. This is such an important book. It’s about something so much deeper than what the cover kind of gives off. I loved Felix from the beginning and felt so protective and really got angry with so many people in his life. Ugh, I hate that kids have to go through this everyday. I will never understand and I hope I can just teach my child to love and accept all. We are all humans and that’s ultimately all that matters!! Regardless, there were times this was so hard to read. Not because of the writing but the actual content is so intense and very sad. I could never give this book justice in a review because there are just too many important things. I’m not sure what I can say to really hit home how important this book is though. I highly recommend it. Just be prepared to really feel the rage and injustices of this world.
