A morality tale with the gutterball guards on. It reads like a middle aged woman telling her kid about the "crazy" summer she had so that her kid thinks she is cool, but edits it so that they "don't get any ideas"- and throws in that she was besties with the coolest kids on the island for good measure. Solid writing and actually well edited, but holy hell was it repetitive, even for a murder mystery. It was too afraid to go where it wanted and brave enough to not explain itself, like, at all.
