This book had 3 major problems in my opinion:
1. Kestrel is completely alienated from both her and Arin's culture, and, as such, isn't an engaging character for the most part.
2. The romance was, at best, bland, and, at worst, forced.
3. The book's climax came entirely too early. The last third of the book should've been in the sequel.
