I Hunt Killers
by Barry Lyga
I Hunt Killers was a very interesting book. The beginning was a little slow for me, in the sense that it took me a little while to get accustomed to being in Jazz's head. After awhile I just accepted it and started to think maybe that's exactly what the author was intending. Why should I be comfortable inside Jazz's mind when even Jazz himself can't stand it half the time! It kept me constantly trying to figure him out. Which was exactly what Jazz was trying to do. It was like you were going through all the motions with him, wondering at the same time as he was if he was going to just pick up a knife and maybe do something naughty. There was also a bunch of dark humor that went on throughout the book, which was really nicely done. The "who done it" mystery didn't really come as a shock to me, but there was so much more going on with the story that it really didn't matter, I felt like it was clear that this story really was about more than that. I really look forward to seeing what the next book holds in store for Jasper.
