Secret Life of a Vampire
by Kerrelyn Sparks
At first I was a little unhappy with the fact that this book was about Jack. Up until now he has been in less then 10 pages spread across multiple books. We didn't really know much about him and other vampires had peeked my interest more. But I was pleseantly surprised about how much I enjoyed this story. I didn't finish with the "This is the greatest book ever" feeling but I really enjoyed it. I mean by the third page I was laughing so hard and loud a few people checked on me to make sure I was okay.
Jack is in town for Ian's wedding festivites. After a rawdy bachalor party which included sex toys and lots of blissky, the police are called.Introducing our heroine Lara. Jack immediatly realizes she's special (something reminisent from the first book in the series) and can't get her out of his mind and vice versa for her.
This book was extremely comical and introduced new elements to the series. I really enjoyed Lara's back story and her BFF LaToya. I like that the writer can give life to black characters without being sterotypical or offensive. Really happy that I stumbled across this series and will continue to read.
