Though not my favourite so far of the Bridgerton books I have read, still a very sweet love story. Some of the romance and steamier scenes felt really well written as were friendships & family interactions.
Whilst I like Penelope’s character I did feel like her obsessive hopeless romantic trope was really the only thing she seemed to care of think about for 80% of the book. That being said, I did love the relationship between her and lady Danbury in show casing her wit and intelligence. I also have to appreciate the larger FMC love interest being written so beautifully.
Sadly Colin fell flat for me as a love interest, he just seemed like such an irritating character and so clueless to the feelings of those around him.
Overall the plot is very one note and straight forward which made it a very easy read though a bit dull in places. A sweet little friends to lovers romance, but nothing overly special.
