While the prose has some beautiful lines, it was an absolute struggle to get through this book. The plot was hard to find, and I often felt like I’d somehow missed a scene, even though I was continuously rereading paragraphs to understand them. What should have been a two or three hour read became a multiple day affair because of how Dense it felt.
